My next leg was from Statesboro GA to Yemassee SC. In the morning, I met Cory and Ross as I was leaving. We talked a bit about my trip.
The ride to Yemassee is 70 miles. That’s longer that I like. There were lots of sights.
After a while, it got boring though. Only one dog chased me. The best chase was on Saturday on my ride from Folkston GA to Reidsville GA. Here’s a better shot of that.
I spent time stopping at this local market. I talked with the lady for a while about beef jerky. Another customer came in. They talked a while about the storm. He gets down to business and says “I’ll have a bag of ice.” She says “What did you call me!” He comes back with “I didn’t say ask for an old bag of ice.” At this point, I join in with “You two must know each other.” Great fun.
After more roads and trees, I made it to South Carolina. The roads changed abruptly as they did going from Florida to Georgia. As I turned, the road was freshly paved.
My feet became unbearable at 50 miles, so I stopped and changed socks. The countryside is pretty, but it got boring so I turned on my music. Some songs have a good beat to pedal to. I’m picky though. 65 RPM is the best, but I can’t ride at 80 RPM for many songs. I finally made it to the KOA in Yemassee. I went to Denny’s for dinner. I'm fully recovered after a hot shower.

Glad to see you've made it to the low lands of South Carolina although you look pretty serious about it in that last picture. :-)
