My trip to Shallotte NC was tough.  I started of taking my time since it was a short day.  Do you see anything wrong with this photo? 

Yep, the flags are missing.  I had left them in my room.  I didn’t realize this until I’d gone 8 miles.  Janet at Red Roof Inn found them for me.  Thanks Janet! 

Here I am back on the boardwalk with my flags. 

Now that I was late, I had to contend with about 15 miles on US-17.  Most of this was in the grass or required me to “claim the lane” at intersections. 

I was finally on reasonable roads once I got to North Carolina. 

I stayed at a campground next to a beautiful marsh. 

Boy was it cold though.  The low was 35.  I was miserable.
