Things keep coming together on this tour.
I always had the option of taking a break. I’m starting to make too many mistakes. I’m going home for a while to recuperate and to finish our taxes. I’m still going to try to ride across the country, just not all at once. This experience is just too fantastic to hurry through.
I hope to go to Okrakoke Island NC. That should be fun. It’s a two hour ferry ride to the Island. Then I’ll turn around and go back to Surf City NC. My friend Geoffery lives there. We met back in the 80’s when we both lived in Durham NC.
I’ll have my crate shipped to Geoffery, pack the trike, ship the it back to Austin TX, and fly from Raleigh NC to Austin TX.
When we lived in Durham NC and Chapel Hill NC, I was working for Data General in Research Triangle Park NC. Dan, one of the guys I worked with, just happens to be going for an annual trip to Surf City NC at the same time I’ll be there.
Dan has offered me a ride from Surf City NC to Raleigh NC. I’m going to hang out in the area to visit with friends and head back home.
Day 33 of your trip! How many miles? Have you gone 1000 yet? Have fun with your friends! Will you look up Katie and Ann? Give them big hugs for me! The coast of NC is gorgeous - thanks for all the pictures!
ReplyDeleteAgree with Betty! Thanks Tom. Amazing effort.

Tom: Your experience gives me hope and inspiration that I might undertake something like this one day. See you soon in ATX!
ReplyDeleteTom: A woman from Moncks Corner, SC donated a check in your honor to the National MS Society. You are an inspiration. I hope you are getting some rest.
ReplyDeleteHey, my son finally learned to ride his bike so he can be like Tom. Made me happy. It's what he said.
